The observable universe spans ~93 billion light years and contains an estimated 2 trillion galaxies. Large galaxies hold 100–400 billion stars each. The total number of stars — somewhere around 10²² to 10²⁴ — is comparable to, and likely a few times greater than, the number of grains of sand on all of Earth's beaches.
